Hello? Hello? Is anyone out there?

I used to journal on Vox, which ended back in 2010. Gosh, what a community! It was amazing. I even offered to buy the site when they closed it, but despite trying several different channels, they wouldn't even talk to me about it. What a shame. I still have friends to this day that I made there.

Since then, I've tried various things. Even made my own site for a year or so with my bestie, but didn't continue it when life got in the way - divorce, buying my own home, moving my Momma in with me etc.

This year I've been journaling in a Google Docs document, because it's better than being on one of these sites where it feels even more lonely because people *could* read what I write, but realistically, if I don't drive traffic (ugh) then no one will see it.

I just want connection. I want to read your thoughts, hear your life. I want to know what brings you pain and joy. I just want to be part of a group of humans, being.

I'm hoping this might be the place.

Wow, that would've been awesome.

I support the FujoGuide, which enables people to learn how to build their own websites.

Dreamwidth is great for that. There are a number of communities with what we might call a "slice of life" vibe, particularly in the daily and weekly frequencies.

I hope so too. Check out [community profile] newcomers and [community profile] getting_started for tips on how to use it and find things here. [site community profile] dw_community_promo is good for communities. See the Add Me communities for finding friends.

>> Thank you so much for all of this! I appreciate you!<<

You're welcome. I'm happy I could help.

>> I have already looked up a few communities. I am excited to find some more through the links you provided! <<

I forgot to mention -- [community profile] followfriday has a weekly list of active communities on a current theme.
